Do you know whats awesome about Henry? That unlike so many big time players that have come to MLS to collect pay checks its very clear he still cares so much. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the league and constantly shows an understanding of teams RBNY are going to play against. Its so refreshing and makes me happy and outside of maybe Juan Pablo Angel ive never wanted an RBNY player to win a title like I have wanted him to. You can tell even though he’s won so much it will still mean something to him. I love that.

Was his prodction down last year? Yes. Was he getting older and at a decently high salary for MLS especially for a player who seemed to be destined for the bench? Yes. Do I like this move then? Not really. Listen I understand with a salary cap you need to do things like this sometimes but what have most of the successful teams in MLS seem to have is a sense of continuity and leadership, Joel Lindpere served both those purposes. I don’t know i’ll reserve judgement until later but this just feels like same old Metro make the same dumb moves over and over again.
